Andrew Lineham and Roger Harris, two
well-known London dealers in 19th and
20th century glass, are staging a selling
exhibition of fine enamelled and cut
drinking glasses by some of the most
famous names in Europe.
These include Theresienthal,
Meyr’s Neffe, Heckert and Lobmeyr.
English interest is represented in this exhibition by
Thomas Webb and Stevens & Williams and 1875 - 1918
is a general date guide, although there are
some glasses from a later date.
This period is of great interest because
the abundant skill of the glassworkers
and the comparatively low wages in
Europe meant that wonderful glass could
be made and many new techniques
developed and employed.

Changing styles and fashions influenced
designs which included Belle Epoque,
Art Nouveau and Fin de Siecle.
This interesting and unusual selling
exhibition is for one day only at the
Cambridge Glass Fair and should be an
exciting opportunity for collectors to see
and buy some museum-quality
European glass.
